Dog of the Week: Cindy Lou Who!

You may remember this face from last month when Miss Cindy Lou Who escaped from her backyard and spent almost a week on the lam. Her rescue was a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end, and although she suffered from a broken femur, I think we can all agree that it could have been much, much worse.

Cindy Lou Who is a quiet, thoughtful girl who, once she gets to know you, will smooch and happily snuggle on your lap for an evening of TV. She is looking for a caring and compassionate home who will help build her confidence and understands she is shy when in new situations or meeting new people. Although she didn't have the best start in life, having been one of the 527 dogs seized from a large puppy mill, her sweet, gentle personality is what people remember about her.

Cindy Lou is a Rat Terrier, about 2 years old and weighs 10 pounds. She is great with other dogs (although prefers the company of her favourite human) but will bark at cats because after all, she is a terrier as she's just starting to figure out. :)

Cindy Lou still sometimes finds the world a bit overwhelming so will retire to the safety of her crate or her nice dog bed conveniently located under the human bed. She is a very clean dog and as long as she is let outside regularly does not have accidents in the house. She would do best in a quiet adult home - someone home part of the day would be a bonus although she is used to being left for a full work day.

If you have room in your heart and home to give Cindy Lou Who the forever home she has been waiting for, please email adopting@hopefulhearts.ca
